Don’t enter these competitions they’re just trying not to pay artists. Do not work for free they will make money off of you and they will pay you nothing.

I work in the arts. I get that artists are underpaid. But literally,, not every big company is out to absolutely exploit artists. (Disclaimer: idk the pounds-to-dollar conversion)

this is spec work and predatory as hell.
Posters for movies go for about 5k per poster assignment
This is the same company who did the Shaq spec work thing, they have a history of trying to exploit ‘budding artists’ because ’budding artists’ think it’s okay to get 250 pounds for a poster which you should be getting thousands of pounds for.

Note that the section above calls for what basically counts as an NDA so you can’t use your submission in your portfolio in the meantime.

Big companies are trying to cut corners everywhere, art is an underpaid exploited business. and this is a company who has pulled off shit like this before and has gotten the backlash. They know what they’re doing is trash.

So again: Don’t enter contests to design the marketing material for companies who don’t want to hire an artist.

when I was a kid, my dad told me that if they ever reinstated the draft (and included women in said draft) that I had his support if I went out and did some minor crime to get arrested so I’d no longer be able to be drafted. I think it’s important to have those kinds of conversations with kids. I might have had a lot of dumb ideas and misguided opinions growing up, but I always knew it was morally worse to contribute to the US war machine than it was to break a law.

• ADHD

• Personality disorder

• Low credit score (I don’t know what number range)

• Certain injuries or surgery history

• Vision impaired (to what extent I don’t know)

• Hearing impaired (to what extent I don’t know)

• Asthma

• Overweight (I don’t know what they qualify as overweight)

• Unability to pass their physical

• Pregnant

• Stretched ears

• Tattoos on face, neck, hands
